Разговор по душам с американцем. Переписка.

Dear Guy,

How are you doing? How are your wife and children?

How is weather in Los Angeles?

I am well enough, I work as a technical writer and keep up with politics, as
before.

...
I think you can guess what I think about war in Iraq and American politics.
I can only say that now I really want to learn shooting and all that things,
because now I see that it is very possible to see American troops here like
in Iraq and (in future) in North Korea or Syria. After not so many years,
when my Russia will lose its nuclear weapon completely.
And I must be ready to meet those 'beneactors'. I extremely hope that there
will be no your boys or girls among that people...

But all that is lyricism. I would like to know if you come on 300th
anniversary to Petersburg. I will glad to see you much more than George
Bush, word of honour %-)))

So, my mom and my grandparents say hello to you and all your family.
Best regards to Kathy, Jay, Elise, Lauren and Neal Jacob.
Tell Jay that his Mister Gosha remembers him and wishes him to grow up as
kind, pure and honest man, as he was during his life in SPb.

Truly yours,

Georgi (Mr. Gosha)

Gosha,

Thanks for you letter and the articles below. As I've written you, it is
practically impossible to escape our own countries propaganda. I have no
doubt that if/when chemical weapons are discovered, American media will say
it proves America was right, Russian media will question the authenticity of
the evidence. We can predict this now! It's merely propaganda!!!

(by the way, do you perceive the chemical weapons attacks on the Kurds,
where 5000 civilians were killed to be a myth or mere propaganda?? how can
we ignore such crimes?)(and more, how can we CONTINUE to ignore such crimes
commited even now in Africa? What is your proposed response? Do nothing?
Dictators from Hitler through Kaddafi to Sadam DO NOT respond to diplomacy!
Again, what is your proposed response??)

It is a horrible idea to think that weapons sales will make the world safer.
Horrible. If Russia wishes to export, why not export their movement to
democracy? This will increase peace. Can you give me an example of two
modern democracies going to war?? Certainly no well developed democracies
have gone to war in the last century.

Despite propaganda, this is the vision I have.

Dear Guy,

1. I think you understand that somebody can accuse Russia in many similar
crimes in Chechnya - about 'murders of civilians'. And it's done already.
You know, I think, that to define Chechens as 'civilivans' is too brave
%-))) - the same as Kurds. Especially that Turkish government surpressed the
same Kurds very hard.

I do not want to have the same destiny for Russia like for Iraq.

2. US never defends 'democracy' and SO-CALLED 'human rights' as they are.
It simply defends power that is more suitable for US now. That is the answer
for your question why America 'continue to ignore such crimes commited even
now in Africa'. It does not WHILST touch America so much. As America
supported Hussein 15 or 20 years before that - in the war against Iran, for
example.

3. If US wants to interfere into the internal affairs of some country, it is
better not to refer to some 'democracy' but be honest. Hussein did not
attack US or even Saudi Arabia for last years.

4. 'Russian movement to democracy' became so awful that many people in
Russia remember Stalin as a good enough man (as my family, for example) and
hated even the word 'democracy'. They
remember that during the Soviet power they was not afraid of future and were
defended from any invasion from the outside. All that spirits exist
regardless of OFFICIAL, STATE PROPAGANDA - so,
If Russian weapon were not so strong, the USA could attack the Soviet Union
even in 1950s. And American government had many plans of bombing Soviet
cities and industry. But thank God it did not happen AT THAT TIME.
From 'democracy', from 'partnership with America' we as a nation have
NOTHING MATERIAL - except some people, so-called 'elite'. From trading with
other countries - and most of we can trade is weapon because it is
high-quality - we can get money for ourselves.
And we can deliver other (non-Western) countries defense from America that
is very aggressive now, and it is clear.
I think we should change our government and do this.

That's all I wanted to say about that,

Georgi
======================
Gosha, truly, you DO consider the killings of the Kurds, 5000 with chemical
weapons, to be justified?? Truly?? Since the horror of the US use of
nuclear bombs, no one has actually used weapons of mass destruction - no one
but Sadam...

What is the answer to why Russia ignores the genocide in Africa? Why does
Europe ignore the genocide in Africa? Shouldn't EVERY country vigourously
defend victims and defeat those who practice genocide?

I can share with you that my experience with Russian citizens tells me that
the freedom that you now feel IS VERY MUCH MATERIAL, but only in the soul
right now. What do you want? More money? Is that the only thing?? I'm
surprised at you. Please try to understand the nobility of your Russian
move to democracy. Or think this way: there must be a democracy you admire,
yes? Please look at the history of THAT country (the one you admire). I'm
sure you will find that the citizens ONLY 10 YEARS after the move to
democracy did not consider the situation perfect. Some i'm sure grumbled
that "we were better off before." But now, after the hard work to earn
freedom, the citizens of THAT country (the one you admire) now, today,
consider themselves blessed and lucky that their ancestors were brave enough
to endure the difficulties associated with embracing freedom.

You are part of the generation that your children and children's children
will bless.

Guy Hocker III, Esq.

==============================
Dear Guy,

I belong to the group (a big group) that 'are not considered themselves
blessed and lucky'.
The amount (percentage) of such people, for your information, grows up, and
our democtratic elite (government and cultural) has big headache because of
that. By the way, Stalin had an exclusive popularity this year (50 years
from his death). Our leaders, sociologists and TV masters were shocked, but
that is a fact.

About 'my children and children's children'. The population of Russia -
especially the population of Russian people - falls down. Very soon this
movement will become faster and faster. That are the fruits of democracy.
And I have no family or children also, myself. May be, I never will, because
I do not see good future for my Russia and me. So...

Truly yours,
Gosha

P.S. Let stop discuss that subject. We are too different. I only wanted to
say that now the Baghdad Museum (kept by Hussein) has been plundered of
maradeurs with the connivance of American and British troops.
