Первый - начётнический:
The operational air-launched weapons were the wartime 18in torpedo (range 2500 yards), the 3in rocket, and bombs, principally a 2000-pound AP, a 1000-pound MC, and a 500-pound SAP. The ongoing hydrogen peroxide torpedo work was expected to lead to a 7000-yard weapon.
Radar directed anti-aircraft fire would probably be effective inside 3000 yards, and the Fleet Air Arm wanted to attack at the lowest possible altitude, where fire control would be ineffective. That greatly complicated any attack on an armored ship, such as a Soviet cruiser. The MC bomb, for example, was unlikely to penetrate at low altitude, and it was unlikely to hit if dropped from high altitude, where the airplane carrying it would be vulnerable. The AP bomb could penetrate any
armor, but it was unlikely to hit. Small rockets would do no more than superficial damage.
Given these weapons, the Fleet Air Arm considered Soviet cruisers extremely difficult
targets. In 1948, for example, an official handbook on the Fleet Air Arm suggested that a mixed force of two to three squadrons of Fireflies and Sea Furies with an adequate anti-flak escort 'has a fair chance of crippling if not sinking a single cruiser'.

Казалось бы - 3-дюймовые ракеты, антенные посты, вот это всё... Ан нет: superficial damage. А бронированный корабль (и это, заметим, не "Ямато" и даже не "Дюнкерк") - extremley difficult traget.

И да, следуя правилам: англичане в 1948 г. считали, что потопить советский крейсер авиацией будет очень сложно, потому что советский крейсер - бронированный. А от НАР, которыми можно бить антенные посты, ожидали только "мелких/лёгких/легко устранимых повреждений".

Примените Ваши рассуждения к развитию танков - с их бронированием, "уязвимой" оптикой и электроникой и байками про ЗСУ.
