похоже, USS Cole не жилец ... :-)

ADEN, Yemen, Oct. 15 — Investigators postponed their work and an onboard memorial service was delayed after the hobbled USS Cole lost power and took on more water in Yemen's harbor on Sunday. NBC's Pat Dawson, reporting from Aden, said the destroyer sat helplessly for hours after a collapsed bulkhead forced the exhausted crew to fight another battle to stabilize the ship.

REAR-ADMIRAL Mark Fitzgerald called it a "serious situation" but insisted "the ship was not in danger of sinking."
The power had been restored Thursday after a suspected terrorist bombing blew a 40-by-40 foot hole in the Cole, killing 17 sailors.

On the other hand, it's not likely the Cole will be able to power herself back to homeport in Norfolk, Va., and there's talk of bringing in a floating drydock to contain the ship.

The setback delayed investigators trying to determine what kind of explosives were used. Officials said the blast was more powerful "than just TNT" and turned the attack boat into "confetti size" pieces that rained down on the crippled destroyer.

Hatches were blown open on the deck, one official said, and areas below near the blast site were "absolutely destroyed."
