During the night a German engineer detachment in rubber boats crossed the water protection of Eben-Emael fort, maintaining radio contact with the parachutists landed on the turret tops. The engineers carried with them penetrating charges which they used with tremendous effect. By 5 a.m. the German forces were ready for the final assault, made with grenades and flame throwers. At 12.30 the fort, having lost 2.00 of its 1,000 men, completely surrounded and blind through the seizure of the turret tops, surrendered.

Т.е. в ночь с 10-го на 11-е саперы переправились на надувных лодках, и с утра 11-го начался штурм с использованием огнеметов (и почему-то гранат).
