Надо признать, ранее статистика у НАСА была получше и повнушительнее.
Вот, например, отчетность LAPST за 1987-1988 "LUNAR SAMPLE ACTIVITY
The Lunar and Planetary Sample Team (LAPST) reviewed 19 requests for lunar samples at its November 19-20 meeting. LAPST recommended allocating 39 samples (weighing 6.8 grams) and 289 thin sections to 12 investigators for scientific study and one sample weighing approximately 166 grams as a long-term educational display. After careful review LAPST recommended denial of the requests from two individuals. Neither request provided adequate scientific justification.
LAPST reviewed ten requests for lunar samples from nine individuals at the February 8-10 meeting. The team recommended allocating 33 samples (weighing 13.83 g) and 144 thin sections to seven investigators for scientific study and one sample weighing about 160 grams as a long term educational display. The tenth request, received near noon of me second meeting day, was tabled. The requestor will be asked to provide additional information prior to the Juny meeting." http://www-curator.jsc.nasa.gov/lunar/lnews/pre2004/LN_50_Spring_88.pdf
"The Lunar and Planetary Sample Team (LAPST)
reviewed 25 requests for lunar samples at its June
7-8 meeting at the Lunar and Planetary Institute.
LAPST recommended allocating 117 samples
(weighing 48.2 grams) and 114 thin sections to 17
investigators for scientific study and 5 samples
(weighing 5.0 grams) to an investigator for a lunar
resources study. After careful review LAPST
recommended denial of one request; the experiment
plan was judged to be inadequate.
At its November meeting, LAPST will review
requests received by November 10, 1988." http://www-curator.jsc.nasa.gov/lunar/lnews/pre2004/LN_51_Summer_88.pdf
Сразу видно, что и на какие цели выдано. За год ~70 грамм образцов(samples) + еще ~300 тонких срезов(thin section) грамм на 10.
Бывало и побольше. "The Lunar and Planetary Sample Team (LAPST)
reviewed 18 lunar sample requests from 16
investigators at its June 1-2 meeting and recommended
allocating 170 samples (weighing 173.9
grams) and 137 thin sections to 14 investigators.

"The Lunar and Planetary Sample Team (LAPST) met November 19-22, 1981, at the
Lunar and Planetary Institute. LAPST reviewed 13 requests for lunar samples
from 12 Principal Investigators and recommended allocation of 87 samples
weighing approximately 53.3 grams.

The next LAPST meeting is scheduled for February 25-28, 1982." http://www-curator.jsc.nasa.gov/lunar/lnews/pre2004/CN_34_1_22_82.pdf
