"Оказывается, настоящее название книги - Honor Denied: The Combat Memoirs of SS Radio Operator (вышла в марте 2007 сразу на англ.). Автора – два, Karl Metzger и Paul K Harker"

Paul K Harker
удалены из продажи Helion, the leading UK-based specialist military history vendor как фантастика.

Two weeks ago a new user - a "professional researcher" who had worked on Directive 19 with Paul K. Harker and "had a financial interest in the book" joined the Feldgrau research forum and threatened legal action would be taken for libel. Subsequent investigations have cast considerable doubt on the identity of this user. He was offered SEVERAL chances to prove his identity and his link with Harker, but consistently refused to provide ANY bonafides and corroborations. Feldgrau Management are forced by his behaviour and subsequent investigations to regard this as a spurious attempt to deflect criticism of these works.

In the process of this the new user gave Feldgrau Management a reason why NO proof of the identity of "Rolf Otto Schiller" could be provided, and Management were put in touch with Harker directly. This story was repeated, that the problem with proving "Schiller's" identity was a "family connection" with Harker - which is 100% different from the story of how Harker first met with "Schiller" that he used to circulate on Mad Dog Memoirs and a Delaware News Journal article he contributed to and is circulting on the Net. Subsequently Feldgrau Management offered Harker a *foolproof* method of confirming "Schiller's" identity WITHOUT his real name being supplied or made public. This was NOT taken up by Paul K. Harker.

In the SAME exchange of messages the author was offered an opportunity to corroborate the real identity of "Karl von Metzger" the protangonist in "Honor Denied" for public consumption - and THIS was not taken up either. Management regards this as VERY questionable - as of course the REAL identity of "Metzger" is NOT covered by the "family connection" story that alledgedly prevents corroboration of "Rolf Otto Schiller's" real identity.

At this point it should be noted that Feldgrau has provided this CONFIDENTIAL corroboration of wartime service for a number of WWII veterans on the Internet in recent years, due to the number of hoaxers that have appeared in the past.

Feldgrau Management regrets Paul K. Harker's unwillingness to have the real identites of BOTH his protagonists confirmed independently. In addition to this, Feldgrau Management's investigations have revealed a number of oddities casting very considerable doubt on the identification of an SS officer in a picture published in "Directive 19" as "Schiller"; the Delaware News Journal article says that according to Harker the real "Schiller" gave Harker a considerable number of photographs from his own personal albums and obviously if this came from the hand of the real "Schiller", his identity in it would not NEED to be questioned - but it appears that several years ago a member of Axis History Forum under a spurious user name published the picture in question on AHF in an attempt to confirm that the REAL identity of the officers in the picture had NEVER been established....biographical details supplied by this AHF user at the time confirm it to have been Paul K. Harker.

This, and the total refusal of the author to provide ANY material of ANY sort to allow the confirmation of ANY details or identities in "Directive 19" and "Honor Denied" forces Feldgrau Management to question IF the identity of "Schiller" and his portrayed role in events can be proved at all, as opposed to being historical fiction. The Feldgrau military research community would have been the very first to welcome these two books into the canon of military historical literature if that had been possible, hence our offer to assist the author with corroboration of his material to extend our knowledge on these subjects.

Further investigation confirmed that despite claiming a Medieval History degree from Penn State to the journalist Victor Greto, Paul Harker never attended Penn State. His military career ended in a few months without ANY service abroad, and his "career in counselling" turned out to amount to two years or so as receptionist in a teenage halfway house in Cape May, NJ. His ex-partner, when contacted, confirmed that NONE of the five years of travel to Europe to meet "Rolf Otto Schiller" took place, nor any of the correspondance Harker is supposed to have had with him; in the five years that Harker is supposed to have travelled over a dozen times to Europe - he pumped gas in a Texaco garage in Cape May.

No research, no travel, no correspondence, so many errors...what about corroboration? recently yet ANOTHER harker sockpuppet tried to palm a number of faked documents off on Feldgrau management, one of which was supposed to confirm the existence of "Rolf Otto Schiller". This document - and all the rest - turned out to be kids'-level forgeries.

"Directive 19" is a tissue of lies; it's creation process was a tissue of lies, the claimed career and academic qualifications of Paul K. Harker...ditto.

***MAJOR UPDATE***

This week, BOTH "Honor Denied" and "Directive 19" by Paul K Harker were removed from sale by Helion, the leading UK-based specialist military history vendor - as they "don't sell fiction"...!
