When shooting from unsupported positions, the rifle sling, if used correctly, is a great aid. However, many models of long guns have the following common flaw: the tension applied to the sling bends the barrel, which, in turn, results in a noticeable change of the point of bullet impact. For example, with my M1A, if I pull on the sling hard, the point of impact shifts down by as much as 40 cm at 300 meters!
Most rifles where the sling attachment point is not mechanically decoupled from the barrel assembly show similar behavior. Among those are most M14 and M16 clones, all bolt action rifles where the forestock touches the barrel, etc. With some models, one has to make special effort to eliminate that undesirable effect (see, for example, http://rassokhin.com/personal/Firearms/ColtHBAR.html , where I describe the trick).
I am just curious if the SVD is also sensitive to the sling pull. Since it is issued without a bipod, I would imagine the shooters will be using the sling to improve accuracy if a suitable support is not available in a tactical situation.

если в кратце, человек всерьез занимается стрельбой из винтвоки, и спрашивает, как было принято стрелять из СВД без опоры - использовался ли при этом ремень, и если да - не влиял ли нятяг ремня на изменение СТП (в его опытах натяг ремня на 7.62мм винтовке М1А при стрельбе стоя уводил СТП вниз на 40 см на дальности в 300 метров).
