На самом деле менеджеры на атолле Кваджалейн стали требовать отчеты о работе. Работники на Омелеке стали чувствовать себя рабами, так как лишились самостоятельности в работе. Им надоело, что им постоянно указывают сверху, что делать.
"This stress was compounded when the vice presidents on Kwaj began to complain about the lack of documentation as the first flight neared. This irritated engineers on Omelek like Bulent Altan, who were doing their damnedest to get the Falcon 1 rocket ready to fly, while being pushed to go faster. They resented being asked to do things now that were not required before. One day close to the first launch, tensions boiled over. The vice presidents on Kwaj called to again complain about a lack of paperwork, forms, and tickets. “We got our asses chewed out, just this huge reprimand,” Altan said. “We felt like slaves out on Omelek, with all the power stripped away from us.”
“We had been going around the clock,” Hollman explained. “We were sick of being told to do this, or do that. At some point everybody got fed up and decided that we needed to find a way to let them know that we were a part of this team as well.”
