Re: DCR -...

Ничего слаще морковки Буше, я смотрю, вы так и не нашли.

Естественно, это не моё мнение, а французских генералов:

"A more important problem was the constitution of the DCR's. Industrial mobilization increased available equipment; still there was not enough to form a significant number of DCR's following the model specified in the 1939 manual. Nonetheless the Polish campaign persuaded the experts that these units had to form posthaste. Colonel Charles de Gaulle, the commander of the tanks of the Fifth Army, addressed a report to the High Command in January 1940, demanding the formation of a mechanized corps according to his model; the present system, he claimed, simply used armor to support old style units.

In early December 1939 Billotte wrote to Georges: the Polish campaign demonstrated the use of mechanized divisions in audacious maneuvers; the enemy might attempt the same thing in the west once he broke through the Belgian defenses. Billotte credited the Germans with five Panzerdivisionen and perhaps 2,000 tanks. He added "It is vital for us... to parry the danger which menaces us, but also - and above all - to profit... in a domain in which we should, it seems, hold a certain superiority." France then disposed of two DLM's and one DCR with 400 tanks, plus some forty battalions with 1,800 machines. France had technical and numerical, but not tactical, superiority since the German vehicles, unlike the French, were formed into divisions. Billotte concluded that the grouping of French tanks into three DLM's and three DCR's would give them superiority. But he underestimated the number of Panzers.

Georges discussed this reorganization with Billotte, Dufieux, and General Louis Keller in December; he agreed to the immediate constitution of two DCR's each with two battalions of B tanks, two battalions of the lighter Hotchkiss tanks - the largest number that production allowed - and a single battalion of mechanized infantry. 27 The resulting unit was weak in infantry and supporting arms, and lacked the weight and flexibility of the DCR of the 1939 manual; however, the B tanks made even this formation a threat to the larger and more balanced but lighter Panzers".
