Здрaвствуйтe, вот нeбольшaя выдeржкa из Brunswick Troops 1809-1815, нaдeюсь поможeт:
The dispossessed Fredrich Wilhelm of Brunswick was obsessed with the idea of revenge against Napoleon for the damage which hadbeen done to his family and lands. As a ohysical expression of this vengeance he decided to clothe his new troops all in black, and adopted as his badge the skull-and-crossbones. He thus became known as Der Schwarzer Herzog (the Black Duke) and his corps was christended Die Schwarze Schar (the Black Band)
