EAA AirVenture Oshkosh will draw more than 10,000 planes and fliers from around the world.
THE EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT Association AirVenture 2006 Fly-in Convention and Airshow in Oshkosh, Wis., will showcase more than 2,500 aircraft July 24-30. Homebuilts, antiques, classics, warbirds, ultralights, rotorcraft and gliders will all be on hand for a legendary event that attracts aviation enthusiasts and innovators from around the world. More than 500 forums conducted by aviation leaders and NASA researchers, a flight pavilion providing free instruction for novice aviators and a KidVenture area for children complete with flight simulators and glider-building contests are all part of the entertainment. Each day culminates in a three-hour afternoon airshow where participants can showcase their airplanes and then attend an aviation-themed movie at the 4,000-seat Theater in the Woods.
