Kamov Bids at South Korea Helicopter Tender
The Kamov Company cast a bid at the forthcoming combat helicopter tender in
South Korea, Venyamin Kasyanikov said. ``Kamov will offer its brand-new KA-52
Alligator equipped with Russian-designed avionics``, Kasyanikov pointed out.
A few months ago, Kamov participated in another tender at Turkey where it
presented KA-50-2 Erdogan equipped with Israel-made avionics.
According to Kasyanikov, South Korea plans to spend nearly 1.8 billion USD on
procurement of 30-40 combat helicopters with the aim to take delivery of the
first helicopter in 2004.
