Не стреляйте в переводчика...

... он переводит как умеет.
Замените "толпа секретной полиции, заседающая в Кремле" на "значительное количество выходцев из спецслужб, обосновавшихся в Кремле" - и будет вполне адекватная фраза. Как минимум с точки зрения русского языка :)

Если учесть, что в оригинале, ЕМНИП, mob, то всё становится ещё интереснее, т.к. это слово помимо значения "толпа" имеет ещё и значение "шайка, банда" :)
