Сняли его не в начале 1944 а в сентябре. И не потому что он был плох или устарел.
А совсем по другим причинам. И вместе с ним сняли и Ju88 и Ju188 и He177 и много еще чего. Так что остался только Ju388.

On 30 June 1944 the Fuhrer wishing to protect the Reich and secure the Front issued the following orders: absolute top priority for the fighters. Building of heavy combat aircraft completely cancelled. The inventory of fighters destroyers and night-fighters to be increased to 10 000. This number must include 5 000 new aircraft divided up as follows: 3 800 fighters (included 500 Me 262) 400 destroyers 500 night-fighters. In addition to these 4 700 aircraft already included in the proposed programme the shortfall of 300 to be made up by increasing the production of Ar 234 and Me 262. Within the fighter sector the most useful existing Jabos' and short-range recce aircraft are also to be produced. New developments are to be restricted to the utmost extent.
B. The Programm:
1. 20 aircraft cancelled basically large types Ar 96 Ar 196 BV 222 BV 238 Ca 313 DFS 230 Do 24 Go 242 He. 111 He 177 Hs 129 Ju 52 Ju 87 Ju 88 bomber and recce ac. Ju 188 bombers Ju 290 Ju 352 Me 210C Me 410 Ta 154.
2. To be continued but to a limited extent: Fi 156 Fi 256 Kl 151 Si 204D He 219 (50 per month) Ju 88G (180 per month) Bf 110G

Bfl09 500/m 300 WNF 200 in Hungary

Есть данные о выпуске по типам с разбивкой по месяцам из которых видно что к октябрю плавно свернули выпуск всех бомбардировщиков.
