I-16 M-62 for Krasnaya Pyaterka
Ineresting information about the planes shown on the photo: from Maslov’s “Korol Istrebitelei” Yauza-Eksmo 2008. On pages 340-341, in the part about M-62 and M-63 engines and late production I-16s, Maslov writes:
Подготовили И-16 с мощными двигателями и для традиционной ноябрьской демонстрации. Распоряжением по Наркомату авиапромышленности от 25 октября 1939 г. для парадного пролета 7 ноября над Красной площадью требовалось "отправить в Москву лётом 12 И-16 с М-62. Окраску произвести в красный цвет, оружие не устанавливать. Самолеты облетывать вне очереди"

Хвостовые лыжи в августе?
The planes were made in October/November 1939 and Krasnaya Pyaterka performed publicly last time in November 1940.
On all photos of this formation prominent tail skies are visible. Winter 1939/40 or winter 1940/41?
