Police personnel per 100,000 population
Bloomberg ranked countries with at least 5 million people based on per capita levels of police personnel.
Methodology
According to the UNODC, "police personnel" are those who work in public agencies "whose principal functions are the prevention, detection and investigation of crime and the apprehension of alleged offenders." Support staff are excluded. Data are the average figures of the three most recently available years for each country. Countries that did not have at least three years of data were excluded.
