7 B-24s of the HALPRO detachment, along with 2 Royal Air Force (RAF)Liberators and torpedo-carrying Beauforts, attack the Italian fleet E of Malta. The B-24s bomb and damage a battleship and a cruiser, while the Beauforts sink a cruiser.
