The first fired from under 1,000 meters, scoring a hit with a shaped-charge (high explosive) round on the M1A1’s frontal armor. The hit did no damage. The M1A1 fired a 120mm armor-piercing round that penetrated the T-72 turret, causing an explosion that blew the turret into the air. Показанный на фотке экземпляр вряд ли можно назвать "полностью скрывшимся из виду", да и о заползании в окоп по тексту речи нет...

Там также имеется шедевр про то как этот несчастный абрамс пытались по-всякому загасить.

Беда в том что свидетелей этого найти не удается, а американские танкисты очень старались. Так что даже американцы это считают urban legend.

Хотя технически, если отбросить бредовые "no damage", эпизод возможен, но исчезающе маловероятен.
