Никто из блоупайпа лично тут не стрелял, все пользуются

печатными источниками.

Читаем про Блоупайп неоднократно

"Когда нельзя использовать автоматическое наведение ра­ кеты, стрелок отключает ее перед пуском и использует толь­ ко ручное наведение."

как иначе как не 2 режима стрельбы, ручно и автоматически йтрактовать эти слова ?

Из Блоупайпа вообще никто никогда не стрелял...

... а все это суета сует и томление духа. Может и нет никакого Блоупайпа вовсе...

Если серьезно, я видел английский учебный фильм по его использованию. Почему-то там был показан только ручной режим. Кстати, та еще акробатика...

А в английской википедии, к примеру, четко написано, что фактически единственным режимом наведения является ручной, а "полуавтомат" работает только первые 2-3 секунды после пуска.

"Guidance of the Blowpipe is initially semi-automatic with the missile gathered to the centre of the sight's crosshairs by the infrared optic atop the aiming unit. Two to three seconds after launch, missile guidance is switched to fully MCLOS mode, and the operator regains full control of the missile. The operator has to steer the missile all the way to its target manually via a small thumb Joystick. The operator can opt not to use autogathering when engaging low flying targets such as helicopters, but then has to super-elevate the launcher to ensure the missile does not hit the ground. Four flares in the tail of the missile make it visible in flight, first to the infrared optic, then to the operator. Detonation is either by proximity or contact fuse. In emergencies, the operator can end an engagement by the operator shutting off the power to the transmitter with the system switch, after which the missile will immediately self-destruct".

А вот Javelin уже с полуавтоматом, причем именно основным режимом все равно остается ручной, а слежение за ракетой через ТВ камеру используется как резервный режим, если верить Jane's.

"Similar in overall appearance to the Manual Command Line of Sight (MCLOS), radio frequency guided Blowpipe, Javelin is slightly more compact, uses Semiautomatic Command Line of Sight (SACLOS) radio frequency guidance and is fitted with Semi and improved warhead. The operator is equipped with a 6x magnification sight and a long range TV camera to locate targets".

"It contains a stabilised sighting system, which provides manual target tracking and automatic missile guidance through a solid state TV camera".

"The camera detects the missile flares and, using digital techniques, transmits guidance demands to the missile. The TV guidance datum line is collimated with the aiming mark, which is maintained on target by the gunner using the thumb joystick. In the event of sight failure, the integral TV camera system tracks the missile flares and sends an error signal via the command link to adjust its flight trajectory as needed".

в таком случае понятна его низкая эффективность при стрельбе пусть и обученными но душманами
нервы и выдержки не хватало

кстати - стрельба из Блоупайпа требует еще и специальной одежда а не только очков защитных, причем одежда сродни нашему ОЗК
