Компактный вариант дизеля MT883 в 1650 л.с.
Который не только мощнее, но и на целый метр короче стандартного 1500-сильного движка MT883 Ka-500, уважаемый Cory. Вот из International Defence Review за август 2004 г:
"Although not subsequently adopted by any Leopard 2 user, for the purposes of the Greek competition, KMW did fit an improved 1,650hp EuroPowerPack in the Leopard 2A6EX demonstrator vehicle. This embodied the compact MT883 diesel with a new Euro II-compliant common rail injection system and an improved Renk HSWL 295TM five-speed transmission, which gives a 15-20% reduction in fuel consumption. It is also 1m shorter, thereby freeing up additional space in the engine bay for fuel or (as originally envisaged) for accommodating elements of an autoloader for a 140mm gun. A revised cooling and air-conditioning system, which necessitates the modification of the engine decks and rear of the engine compartment, has been developed and tested for the powerpack. The latter also includes a new pressurized air filtration system with a cyclone and a fine filter, which desert trials have shown needs replacing only every 2,000km."
