А насчет наличия на них тепловизоров изначально - трудно сказать. Во всяком случае, в наличии имеется вот такая заметочка из "International Defence Review" №2/2005:
CYPRIOT CAMERAS
The Cypriot government has approved a US$12 million programme for thermal cameras, to be installed in the National Guard's 27 T-80U and 14 T-80UK main battle tanks (MBTs). The cameras will be supplied by Thales Optronics (US$5.2 million), who, in the past, supplied thermal cameras for the National Guard's 52 AMX-30B2 MBTs, and will be installed by the Belorussian manufacturer of the fire-control system, JSC PELENG (US$4.6 million) and the Russian company Rosoboronexport (US$2 million). In a related move, the government has decided to install new engines and power trains in its AMX-30B2 fleet, although the relevant contract has not yet been signed.
