Уважаемый Алексей,
спасибо: послал письмо, но Ярослав Скворцов мне пока не ответил. Хочу еще сообщить, если Вам будет интересно, что, скорей всего, в эту среду пойду на обед в отном из обществ с Lindsey Hilsum, редактором межнудародных новостей одного из независимых коммерческих телеканалов Англии. Я могу попробовать что-нибудь спросить, если получится, не очень на долго---либо (желательно) про освещение новостей, либо про ситуацию. К сожалению, сам ситуацией не владею совсем. Если скажете, что спросить, попробую повторить ответы :))

Subject: MediaSoc: Lindsey Hilsum - fresh from Fallujah
The Oxford Media Society will be hosting Lindsey Hilsum at the inaugural
Channel 4 lecture, to be held next Wednesday (8th week) at 8pm.
Lindsey Hilsum, the International Editor of Channel 4 News, has just
returned from Fallujah, and will be speaking on
"Embedded with the Enemy - from Baghdad to Fallujah"
Lindsey is an award-winning journalist who has reported from the Balkans,
Africa, the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She was in Rwanda in 1994
when the genocide started and has reported for the BBC, the Guardian, the
Observer and other newspapers. She won the Royal Television Society
Specialist Journalist of the Year award for her reports from Jenin in the
Israeli-occupied West Bank during April 2002, and this year, she was named
Broadcast Journalist of the Year in both the One World Media Awards and the
Amnesty Awards. Lindsey began her working life as an aid worker and still
takes a keen interest in humanitarian issues.
There could not be a better-qualified speaker to talk about the situation in
Iraq, and it will no doubt be a fascinating evening.
The talk will be held at the atmospheric Vaults Café (beneath the University
Church, just off the High St in Radcliffe Square) and there will be a drinks
reception following the talk.

Preceding the inaugural Channel 4 lecture next Wednesday, we will be holding
a buffet supper with our speaker Lindsey Hilsum, exclusively for Oxford
Media Society members, at 6.45 for 7pm. This organic, home-cooked buffet,
with drinks, will also be in the wonderful Vaults café.
There is limited space for members, so please email
dinner@oxfordmediasociety.com asap to reserve a place, and await your
confirmation email. You will subsequently be asked to send a cheque of £4 to
confirm your attendance.
The lecture at 8pm and drinks reception following the talk will be free to
all members.
