"History Today is a monthly general history magazine, covering all types and periods of history. The magazine seeks to provide an understanding of the how and why, not just the who, what and when, giving particular emphasis to the movements and events that have shaped the world. The Website includes a free selection of the full text (without images) of articles from each issue from August 1997. These are arranged largely along the basis of geography, chronology (spanning ancient civilisations to current affairs) and type. It is possible to browse these categories, or search the archive. The site promises a fully searchable index of previous articles to 1980. Subscription details are included, as is a back issue service covering June 1980 to August 1997."
