Residents of the Carmel Beach area in the north are calling upon the government to
furnish them with weapons training and permits, to permit them to arm themselves as
fears spread as a result of the widespread Arab violence seen throughout the Galilee.
A growing number of veteran area residents have indicated that the relationship that
existed a month ago between Israeli Jews and Arabs would never exist again in the
future and the Arabs made the decision to participate in the unrest, looting and
anti-Semitic attacks which resulted in deaths, injuries and significant damages to
public and private property.
