Clinton noted that immigration is rapidly changing the racial and ethnic composition of the US population: "Within five years, there will be no majority race in our largest state, California. In a little more than 50 years, there will be no majority race in the United States. No other nation in history has gone through demographic change of this magnitude over so short a time. What do the changes mean? They can either strengthen and unite us, or weaken and divide us. We must decide."
