Прочитал. Одна вода. Только табличка в конце, но судя по тому, что табличка входит в противоречие с текстом книги - то табличка это как бы должно было бы быть в теории, а на практике в книжке вашей так и написано:

By the fall of 1944, the number of aircraft and the amount of high-octane fuel had risen such that the Fourth Air Force could be given an allotment for P-38 pilots who had flown 120 hours. The First Air Force could then meet AAF requirements by either training 223 pilots at the 100-hour level, or 200 a month at the 120-hour.
But until mid-1943 many pilots went into combat units having finished only half the training. Almost none flew the minimum number of hours.

Такая вот она реальность... Многие путают время подготовки пилотов бомбардировщиков с подготовкой истребителей и выдают налет пилотов B-17 и B-24 за истребительный.

Это общие слова, а в реальности оно было вот так:

Despite the cuts in total time for training, the number of flight hours required for graduation never dropped below 60.(History of Army Air Forces Training Command, 510-512)

As he recalled, ideally, it took 3000 hours flying time before a pilot qualified as a B-17 command pilot. LeMay claimed that he received pilots right from single-engine training with no multi-engine experience.(Curtis E. LeMay et al., Strategic Air Warfare: An Interview with Generals Curtis E. LeMay, Leon W. Johnson, David A. Burchinal, and Jack J. Catton)

LeMay was probably referring to an occurrence very early in the war when there was shortage of twin-engine aircraft and a group of pilots was graduated from advanced twin-engine training having flown only single-engine aircraft.(USAF Historical Division, U. S. Air Force Historical Study no. 93: Development of AAF and USAF Training Concepts and Programs, 1941-1952)

Although the ground school portion had been reduced to nine weeks, flying hours were only reduced from 65 to 60 in March 1942 and would remain at 60 for the duration of the war.(Craven et al., The Army Air Forces in World War II, 569.)

Fletcher (будущий пилот Б-17) recalled that the amount of flight time required to graduate was not an estimate — it was “accurate right to the minute.”548 On the day he was supposed to graduate from primary flight training, Fletcher’s instructor notified him that he was eleven minutes short of the required 65 hours. The squadron commander told Fletcher to get into his flight gear and meet his instructor on the flight line. Fletcher’s instructor had a plane ready to go. Fletcher took off flew around the field for eleven minutes, landed, changed back into his dress uniform and went to graduation.(Fletcher, Mister: The Training of an Aviation Cadet in World War II, 73.)

И самое главное - кто учил?

All of the instructors were Army officers. Some had hundreds of hours of experience in flying, and others were newly commissioned pilots. (Ardery, Bomber Pilot: A Memoir of World War II, 19)

Заметим - речь идет о СОТНЯХ часов у инструктора, не тысячи, а всего лишь сотни. Неужели вы думаете, что курсанты налетывали больше, чем их инструкторы?
