For those of you who may be interested in the actual framing of the USS Constitution, I thought I'd post this photo of her, which is dated 1874 at a time when she was stripped of her planking from the upper deck rail down to the waterline. Note that all frames have very small spaces between them, unlike Marquardt's drawings and, thus, my cross sections of her, which are based on Marquardt's drawings. Apparently, there is currently no known accurate plan of the Constitution's framing.
