О чисто онлайновых симах я знаю не понаслышке. Начинал с Air Warrior II и III, летал в WB и AH. И там и там есть свои плюсы и минусы. Но ни разу за эти годы я не встречал в среде симмеров подобного определения аркады и сима. А кооп миссию в Ил-2 я имел в виду в онлайне.
Как вам такой рассказик. Он, к сожалению, на английском, если надо, я могу перевести.
Preface:
It real happens, it’s not firsthand, the persons are real, I just heard of it and got the зermission to write about it.
Part one: Introduction of persons

Son: good friend of mine, in the process to become an Il-2 Sturmovik convert (from FS2002)
Old Eagle: Father of son, retired chief flight instructor of a large regional airport, former Swiss Air Force pilot in WWII , flying then MS-406 and sub-variants in war-time, flying Bf Emil, Fritz, and Gustav after the war, former aircraft development engineer, part of the P-16 design team (Swiss Fighter Bomber, developed in the 60‘s, a few prototypes, then the project was sold =>
result: the world got the wing of the first Lear Jet planes), no flight sim enthusiast, but have seen the FS2002 (guess where ? )
First act: How they made contact

Old eagle visits son which is sitting behind the PC and is happy that he just got the G-2 in the german fighter campaign.
Son: „Hi dad, sorry, absolutly no time, but if YOU have time, you can have a look over my shoulder !“
Son looks at screen again. Old Eagle mumbles something in the not existin beard. But looks over the sons shoulder at the monitor, while „young-eagle“ tries to stay on the run-way while taking off. Old Eagle smiles.
Second act: Old Eagle takes over the command

After a while, Old Eagle ask son:
„ Would it be OK , if I could have a short hop ?“
Son: „ OK, have a try.“ Smiling.
Old Eagle sits down, enters virtual Bf-109G-2 shovels the throttle foreward and taking off. „Young-Eagle“ forgets to smile. Smile on Old Eagles face getting bigger as the time is going by. Son find his smile again. Old Eagle yanks
his Messer thru the vSky of Smolensk and doing the things an experienced pilot do, when he wants to know where the limits are. Fully concentrated for 30 minutes.
PAUSE !
(You may have a drink and/or light a ciggi)
DOING !
Third act: Side lines during 30 interesting minutes time

Son: „Dam‘ it, you sit down and taking off as you would have already done it a few dozend times.“ (Mode: full real with outside views allowed)
Old Eagle: „I did, my son, I did.“
Son: „I still need sometimes the whole space available, happy when not ramming a tower or an other plane.“
Old Eagle while smiling: „What the hell do you think were we told during the Messerschmitt flight training ?“

Old Eagle doing the first approach and doing a picture book landing. Son is flabbergasted.
Son: „Holy Cow, how did you do that ?“
Old Eagle: „I still know the speed figures, the 3-D landscape is great, where’s the problem ?“
Son rolls eyes up in disbelief.

Son shows Old Eagle the planes in the database. Old Eagle recognizes nearly all, including the russian planes.
Son: „Wow, I didn’t know you where interested in this kind of planes. Specially the russian ones.“
Old Eagle: „Military Plane Recognition Program. You see, something of that is still present in my head.“
Forth an last act: Old Eagles impressions

Old Eagle: „This simulation is just phantastic ! Phantastic Cockpit! Only missing my legs. Flight model and characteristic of the Gustav as in real live. Take-off, landings, rolls, loops; the whole repetoire feels right. And the planes are phantasticly modelled ! The sound is great, like
the real Daimler.“

The last curtain of the theater has fallen. The audience has left and behind the closed curtain you could hear the voice of the Old Eagle
asking: „ ...what did you say I need, to run this simulation ?“
