Умер старейший ветеран ПМВ

Любопытное сообщение было еще 29 августа:
PARIS -- The thousand-strong legion of surviving veterans of World War
I lost its oldest member when 109-year-old Raymond Abescat died in a Paris hospital, his old soldier's association said yesterday. Mr. Abescat, who was wounded at Verdun but survived to see the start of his third century, was recognized as the oldest living soldier of the 1914-18 war by veterans from all the countries involved in the fighting, said Pierre Dasse, chairman of the Fraternelle de Puteaux association.
А вот с Россией что? Году в 1994 я видел интервью в газете с ветераном ПМВ в доме престарелых. Он жаловался, что ему не с кем общаться
