The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is scheduled to depart this week with the Theodore Roosevelt Battle Group aboard the amphibious assault ship Bataan and the amphibious transport dock ship Shreveport out of Norfolk Naval Station and the amphibious dock landing ship Whidbey Island out of Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base.
The 26th MEU, which is trained for special operations, will replace the 24th MEU with the returning carrier Enterprise Battle Group and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group.
