Airframe
The air vehicle comprises an upper power module, a central propeller/rotor module (with two
contrarotating three-blade rotors) and a lower payload module. It has an aluminium and composites
outer shell and all-composite rotor blades to minimise radar signature, and the six blades and four
landing legs are easily installed and removed in the field. The power module accommodates the
turboshaft engine, fuel tank, gearbox, fuel control unit and starter/alternator. Special emphasis has been
placed on survivability through low thermal, visual, audible and radar signatures, and construction is
modular to facilitate field repair.
