Коротко - на горбу таскать тежело, поимать медленную цель на прицел надо 10-30 секунд.
Но, думаю, надо иметь в виду что ето расказ солдата, на которого танки непёрли. Со всеми выводами из етого.

We knew before hand that the Javelin missile was not foot mobile as it was intended to be. It is too cumbersome and heavy to be carried by a two-man crew for any length of time. The Marine Gunner Symposium and the Infantry Operational Advisory Group of 2002 both recommended mounting the Javelin onto a HMMWV (Highly Mobile, Multi-Wheeled Vehicle). The time delays necessary to prepare the missile for firing prevents it from being employed as the offensive weapon of choice by the rifle company commander it is intended to support. The delays begin with cooling the seeker, which takes 10 seconds regardless whether or not the day or night sight is used. Time to reduce the tracking gates to the size of the target takes from 10-30 seconds depending on the proficiency of the gunner and the speed or movement of the target. Rapid erratic movement by the target may be too much for our gunners to ever overcome. If the thermal sight is to be used, an additional two minutes are necessary to cool down the thermal sight prior to engagement. The solution to this is to mobilize the Javelin on a vehicle. This not only takes the burden of weight off the Marines back, but also enables a thermal cooling device to be mounted onto the sights similar to the one on the TOW weapon system. The thermal cooling device would allow the sight to be constantly cooled in all but the hottest environments and significantly decrease the time necessary to employ the missile, similar to that of the TOW weapon system.

A shortfall also exists in training our gunners how to lock the tracking gates onto rapidly moving targets. We do not currently have a system to teach them how to perform this function, since our Field Tactical Trainer (FTT) and Basic Skills Trainer (BST) only have limited scenarios, none of which demonstrate the actions of an enemy that has been engaged by long range fires, who now is driving at high rates of speed with multiple turns and maneuvers in and out of cover in an effort to survive. It takes 10-15 seconds to lock the loading gates onto stationary or slow steady moving targets now, with no idea whether or not we can successfully lock onto fast and irregular target profiles. This limitation endangers our intent to employ the missile in the traditional HAW/MAW/LAW (concept of heavy anti-armor firing, followed in echelon by medium and light anti-armor weapons) concept that is the basis of our defensive fire plans.
