Thousands of Iraqis marched to the southern Iraqi city of Basra's governorate on Sunday to protest an arrest warrant by the Iraqi Interior Ministry for Shiite leader Al-Hassani.
Supporters of Iraqi Shiite leader Al-Hassani carrying placards and black flags marched towards the southern Iraqi city of Basra's governorate on Sunday to protest an arrest warrant for Al-Hassani issued by the Iraqi Interior Ministry.
One of the Shiite protesters said, "They desecrate sacred values of the Iraqi people.They blame Al-Hassani for supporting terror. It is baseless.This crowd gathered here to condemn this unfair warrant.Many religious men,party officials and tribal leaders march with us.We want the Ministry of Interior to retract the decision".
