Если бы это был косяк своих служивых - давно бы уже наказали невиновных и поощрили непричастных. Но коль скоро лохануться мог подрядчик или субподрядчик, тут рука руку, потому что прицесс пиления бюджета - это святое.
Как всем известно, у амеров нет ничего святого.
У Трумэна оверхаул только планировался на 2024 год.
The ship was scheduled to go into the Newport News shipyard in 2024 for a mid-life Refueling & Complex Overhaul (RCOH) ending in 2028.
Отказ от оверхаула позволил направить сэкономленные средства на заказ двух новых "Фордов".
“The decision to skip the Truman’s RCOH [Refueling & Complex Overhaul] was part of the deal to fund two new carriers,” said former deputy defense secretary Robert Work.
Ну и последствия принятия решения для верфи:
